In 1993 a mountaineer named Greg Mortenson drifted into an impoverished Pakistan village in the Karakoram mountains after a failed attempt to climb K2. Moved by the inhabitants' kindness, he promised to return and build a school. Three Cups of Tea is the story of that promise and its extraordinary outcome. Over the next decade Mortenson built not just one but fifty-five schools-especially for girls-in the forbidding terrain that gave birth to the Taliban. His story is at once a riveting adventure and a testament to the power of the humanitarian spirit.
This book created an eye opening experience as to the Muslim faith and culture compared to the Taliban. I think that too often in America (myself included) we don't understand the middle-eastern culture and therefore we ignore the problems. By the end of this book, you will want to pack your bags, jump on a plane, and start digging the foundation for new schools in the Middle East. This is truley a Heroic tale of a man on a mission for education. It is a Must Read.

SPUDMAN 2008
Last Saturday, Dave, Boston, and I traveled to Burley Idaho for the Spudman Triathalon. It consisted of a 1 mile swim, 25 mile Bike, and 6.5 mile run. It was such a blast and I can't wait to do it again next year!

BFFs
This blog is dedicated to my BFFs. Mandy and Alana are my best friends and have been for what seems like forever. WE have done the craziest things together. I am going to see Mandy in Spokane on August 8th and I couldn't be more excited. This sounds bad but sometimes I hate when Mandy comes back to Utah because it makes me realize how much I miss having her here. I am also excited for Alana to have her baby girl and can't wait for Boston and Baby Pantas to get married soon. Anyway, I love you girls.

What's So FuNnY?!?!
One of the things I absolutely love about Boston is his sense of humor. Boston is always laughing. I mean always. Sometimes I will hear him in the middle of the night just laughing so hard in his sleep. He thinks everything is so funny. I like to think that he gets this quality from me. Like dave always says about me, "you laugh harder than anbody....especially at your own jokes!"

Cali
Every year around July 4th my family has a family reunion in Arnold California where my grandparents live. I look forward to this trip every year all year long. Arnold is a beautiful little town placed in the Northern Sierra's right next to the Big Trees National Forest. There is so much to do but the main thing that we do is go to the fresh water lakes and just relax. This year we had so much fun. Here are some pics from the trip...
